Kids 2 questions

hi
I have two questions that may sound stupid but I need to know how far should a subwoofer be from the pc tower?
If it is two feet away from the tower and with a piece of wood between them will it cause any damage to my pc?

I need to know that because I am having trouble with my pc It turns on and right after the beep and the memory test it reboots then test the memory again and reboots............. Then I have to turn it off and wait and turn it on again, that way it works
and my friend told it could be because of the magnetic field of my subwoofer (its not sealed)
Thanks

i would say that it depends on your specific sub and tower; ie an all acrylic tower next to a completely open sub would need a couple of feet, where as my windowed tower does fine next to my 8" boxed sub.... my best advice is trial and error... move the sub further away and see if your problems go away

If your speakers are shielded, it shouldn't matter. I've had a shielded sub right up next to my computer with no problems. If you think the speaker is causing problems, then turn it off and move it far away.

I don't think the speaker is at fault, however. Have you tried resetting your BIOS?

I'd suspect an issue with your motherboard, memory, or power supply.

If you're up to it, striping down the system and adding components back in one at time may help determine what piece of hardware is introducing the error.

make sure you have a line conditioner/UPS or at least a good quality surge protected powerboard.
