win 2000pro won't boot

My gateway had a bad power supply I replaced. The computer boots up without any beeps but it won't boot to the OS logo. I never get past the Gateway logo. Any suggestions?

im the the best person to answer your problem but i think that something might be wrong with your operating system.

It seems to me that there's a reasonable chance that there's a hardware error.

Can you get into the BIOS?

as soon as your computer boots, try tapping the TAB key. often times this will dump the gateway OEM tagging and show you the actual POST messages, and maybe then it will give you an idea where you are hanging. yopu might be stuck detecting IDE devices (my best guess at the moment)
