Systems ECS "old" board, will ddr333 work for it?

Supports up to 4.0GB DDR200/266 SDRAM as well as PC100/133 SDRAM and Virtual Channel memory

that's what the specs say, i know ram can be backward compatable, so i am wondering if i use 1 stick of ddr266 and one stick of ddr333 would it work if the board only supports up to ddr266?

thanks

I would think so... but I am not 100% sure, sometimes RAM can be a little fussy.

Yes You Should be able to use both those types of memory in your board just the newer and faster memory will slow down to match the same speed capable of your motherboard since i am doing the same or similer think with my current set up DDR-2100 and a stick of DDR-2700 So the 2700 slows down to match the 2100 but you are still quite capable in using the memory just not at the faster speed.
