2 computer network

Trying to setup a 2 computer network wihout using a hub. XP running on both computers This is what I have; host computer with 2 NICs, computer recognizes them. client computer has a NIC and is recognized. Using crossover cable I can ping client computer but it can't ping host and no internet sharing happening despite using ICS. 2nd NIC in host is manually configure (192.168.0.1) and nic in client is also manually configured (192.168.0.2). Any advise is greatly appreciated.

You have the same setup as I did before when exactly the same happen I couldn't use internet on client until I found out the the Norton Antivirus 2005 has a thing call Worm Protection I disabled it and ICS Will work and everything else will work perfectly.

In Host you need IP to be 192.168.0.1 but in the client just choose the option Assing and IP Address automatically.
