DSL Modems

I have two DSL modems and DSL Service from sbc yahoo. I tried connecting both of them at the same time, but it seems that they are both "fighting for the same signal." Each one works perfectly when the other one is completely disconnected. What I am asking for is a solution to make both of the modems work. By the way, the modems are both from SBC. One from when I was a previous customer, and one current one.

I am assuming that you have to computers hooked up to 2 different modems on one phone line. The onll way i know how to make this work is to used one phone line, one modem, and router/hub, then your 2 computers hooked to the router/hub. The router/hub will allower 2 computers to share one modem.

With DSL you will have to connect the computers through a LAN with one modem or get a second line and a seperate DSL account.

The splitters you plug into the phone line actually seperate the frequencies in the line for voice use and dsl use. Voice is very limited frequency, the rest is used for your internet.

So, yes, your modems are fighting essentially.

Get a 4-port router that suits you, wired or wireless, plug the DSL modem into the router with the RJ-45 jack CAT 5 ethernet cable that it should have come with and plug both your rigs ( after installing network cards ) into the router. You will need 2 cables.

Should work then with little trouble.
