DDR RAM setup

I have two sticks of Ultra 512MB PC2700 DDR 333MHz.When I look at my basic info. It tells me it's only 992MB.Shouldn't it be 1024MB.If so how do I fix this?

Sounds like you are losing some to the onboard video.

What type of computer are you adding this in? Built by you or bought?

Was your 512 seen as 512?

I built it.What do you mean by was it seen as 512?How can I check?

Do I need put put one in slot 1 and the other in slot 3?I have them in slot 1 and 2 right now.They are not dual channel.

I just assumed you had 512 than added another 512. You built it and used 2x512, is that what you are saying?

Power down, remove one stick of 512 than power back on. Check and see if the 512 is now seen as 480.

Sounds like your onboard video is taking 32 MB, whether you are using it or not.

Do you have a seperate card or is the video output coming directly off the mobo?

I did not put in my ATI all in wonder yet.so yes it is coming off my motherboard.
