Which notebook should I choose?

I am planning on purchaseing a a64 laptop and I wonder if I should get CYBERPOWERINC or XTREMENOTEBOOKS.

What do you plan on doing with this computer? What does it need to be able to do?

I want to use it for games and portability. I want it to even try on playing doom 3...hence the 9700 128mb card in both of them.
I also want a company that makes a notebook that can take on a college graduate life in a hospital so at least some beating Plus the company must also honor their warranties and their extended warranties.

I thought of Emachines 6811 but everyone apprently experiences the "crack hinges" effect so I don't want to get my notebook just to send it back to the E-machines for repair (for 3 weeks).

I would strongly suggest not crossing the purposes of gaming with any other purpose (in a laptop, at least).

Your money would be better spent on a good desktop, which will be upgradeable in the future, and a solid and reliable notebook.

You can build your own desktop. I'd suggest (and an aquaintance of mine in med school agrees) an IBM Thinkpad. They're reasonably rugged and well designed; and IBM offers strong warranty.
