the first question is do you use antivirus software?

Then: if you do and it did not pick anything up...does that mean no virus or does it mean something else?

Give some more detail info.

Hi,
Open ur outlook expess, go to tools --> option --> maintenance. See the path of ur .dbx files from store folder. Locate the path. Exit outlook express. Delete ur outbox from the storefolder. Reload outlook express. I think this will solve ur problem.

i never use outlook express, but i use and administer outlook regularly. this sounds like exactly the same situation that outlook has when your PST file becomes too large (aproaching 2 Gb). i know outlook express doesn't use the PST file format, but i also know it uses another database style file for all the mail in your mailbox. if the forementioned solution doesn't work (hopefully it does) then you may have to find the files that have all your mail and split them up.

i have no idea how to do this in outlook, however if you do the things aji_sakc tells you, you will know where and what files hold your mail. the basic idea here is that you would create a new file for mail and open it in outlook as another folder or seperate mail box. lable it "old mail" or something liek that, and move all your old mail you want to keep into it. if this problem was caused by what i think caused it, then doing that will fix your problem.

a disclaimer, do this as a last result, because i have no idea what will happen to your mail, nor if you can even do this in outlook express. you can try it if nothing else works and you have already tried everything else, but like i said, i have no clue whether it will work or not.

good luck!
