Kids Windows 2003 server joining Windows 2003 domain

Hello,

I want to set up 2 redundant Domain Controllers on Windows 2003 Servers. I have set up the first one but can't manage to get the second one member of the domain.

- First question: should I join the domain then promote my second server ? (Is it the way to process it ?!)

- Second question: how to perform the join of the domain?
1/ If I try via System Properties/Computer Name/change.../Member of...
I get the following message:
The following error occurred attempting to join the domain "my_domain.com"
Windows cannot find the network path. Verify......

Lookin references upon the problem, DNS config is mentionned but evrerything seems OK from forward to reverse lookups !

2/ Trying from dcpromo as "Additional domain controller for an existing domain", I get, upon Network Credentials:
The wizard cannot access to the list of domains in the forest.
The error is:
The RPC server is unavailable.

Again accusing DNS config.

NOTE: on the first domain server, I have some nasty events in my application log: 1030 : "Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects...." and 1058 : "Windows cannot access the file gpt.ini for GPO...."
Every 5 mn

Any clue...
