Disk Drive Virus? How can I get rid of it?

Hi,

I have a problem with my new Sony Viao. I contracted a virus some how that is affecting my disk drives. neither the CD Rom or DVD drives work. The scan didn't say what virus it was. Can anyone help me try to get rid of it? Or offer any suggestions as to which software I can get to remove it?

It'll be kind of hard to tell what to remove it with if we don't know what it is.

What AV are you using?

Try these pages, they will perform an online virus scan of your pc. If they find a virus it should tell you the name of it. Write the complete name down and post the name etc.

If neither scan shows anything than your problem is likely not virus related.
