Can anybody point me in the right direction?

I am trying to boot up Windows 2k on my Toshiba Tecra 800. However, after i boot the cd and the setup completes and reboots the system, i get a "NTLDR is missing error." There is nothing I need on the system, so I'm open for any suggestions! Thanks alot!

Outdoors Still havin troubles, haha!

HI.
Well, my inexperience is being well documented, haha. From the beginning, I recently acquired a used laptop, Toshiba Tecra 8000, running windows ME. I tried to replace it w/ windows 2k by booting from the cd, however i get a message saying "NTLDR is missing". I am thinking that re-formatting and booting up the win 2k cd will solve my problem. But I have no clue in actuality, and am not sure how to reformat in the first place. If someone can throw me a lifeline, it would be AWESOME! haha.
Thanks alot,
Bubba

What is your "Boot Order" set at?

You can download a 9X or ME bootdisk from http://www.bootdisk.com and do the formatting. If it's an NTFS partition, you'll have to remove it with 'FDISK' first.

If you want to get rid of the "NTLDR Missing" error, try doing 'FDISK /MBR' using the 9X or ME bootdisk.

"NTLDR" is missing...fixed

Well, i thank you for the advice, i followed it and was ready to impliment it, when I decided to try loading the updated bios. IT WORKED, WOO HOO! haha. Updating the bios and then overwriting with win2k got everything up and running. Thanks for the help.
