In the pat i used to use a floppy drive with a 98 boot disk to do my formatting but now i dont want to use a floppy any more to reformat and im curious, what are my options?
Im running XP pro on a 766mhz HP if that info is needed at all
tried the F8 thing and it didnt have anything there i could use, i tried booting right to my XP cd and it didnt work, it just boot to my HDD, Yes i changed the boot sequence to boot from CDrom but it didnt
I suppose if you had emulation you could run a floppy based utility like Paragon off a CD...
Many new cheaper systems are now being built without floppies...so we're gonna have to work out ways to do it using new tools...or non floppy tools anyway...
Apple has excluded floppies for a long time...

Unless you have an old drive that you're worried about always try to use the /q command in 'format c: /q' to do it fast.
I don't know what the recovery console one is as I use Paragon for all my stuff now...it is a brilliant utility.
