Toshiba Laptop 2210 cdt/6.0 just died

My laptop was working but then when it was turned on it came on but no display. The lights on front came on and cd tray would come out. I tried putting in Windows xp disc and the floppy reboot disc but the screen stayed blank. After trying the reset button and power button the laptop now doesn't want to come on at all. The lights blink yellow and tray won't come out. I hooked a multimeter on the charger and shows volts and checked the battery and it shows a dc charge, although they arn't as warm/hot as before. I got an estimate for repari but they said $395.00 but wouldn't say what they would do. If anybody has any suggestions, please post. Thanks, G

hook it up to a real monitor using the connectio on the back or a docking station. You need to check that the video system is in fact working. If so, then you have a problem with the LCD screen itself (which u can replace if your good with electronics) or the switch that tells the system whether the screen is opened or closed (which can be fixed so that the screen just stays on or fixed)

thanks, i'll try that, hopefully i'll get a screen but i don't think it's powering up. the light on the front starts flashing yellow when i push the opn button.
