Onboard sound doesn't work

Hi,

I'm really frustrated, I tried working on a MSI board and a compaq pc. After I set up the computer the only thing that doesn't work is the onboard audio. There are no conflicts on the device manager, my audio driver works fine, I installed it with the original cd and updated on MSI site and still no sound. I've have the jumpers set up correctly to disable the front side audio so that I could use the back side audio ( this I got it from the MOBO manual), I enabled it from the BIOS. I've had this problem on 3 PC's, the curious thing is that they all have Windows XP, I haven't tried on any other OS though.

Any tips ??

Have you check the CD, I mean you know that it says for what operating systems the drivers in that CD are for. If XP is not mentioned then that's why.

Sounds like you had another OS before then you install XP. on the three comps.
