Compaq recovery disc

I have formatted my hdd of my ol compaq presario and tryed to install an operating system on it but for some reason my presario 5020(I said it was old) wond let me. So I want to use the recovery cd(s) that came with my presario but I think I trashed them a long time ago. So because I am a poor guy I dont want to buy a recovery cd so does anyone know where I could download a creovery cd for my compaq presario 5020?

You'll probably have to contact Compaq/HP about acquiring the Recovery CD. As long as I've been involved with PCs, I've never know Compaq to offer a place to download a Recovery CD.

yeah they don't I called them up but I was wondering if there was an unofficial site where I could get that cd?
