Hackers/share host web site/stealing my business

For months I have been getting returned email from a address that was not mine. So, today I traced the address to a Share Hosting, major corporation,that is a worldwide company. This web site is hooked into my computer and I'm not sure when or why, except to steal information or to use my site. I run a small business, moving freight all over the country. I have been having my loads stolen and my trucks taken. When I found the phone # for this company (Intermedia.net) and called them, the person I spoke with hung up on me. I asked why they were on my site, who was I sharing this site with, who was paying the bill, and why they were using my email. Now, I cannot get anyone to answer the phone. My computer has been going off line, four or five times a day (HPXP) DSL Verizon. I have called Verizon and they can't fix the problem, now I see why, I am being taken offline. Many files and folders have come into my computer that I can't get into or delete. I have a firewall Mcafee, I guess does nothing. Has anyone else had this problem? I would say this company has been stealing my livelihood, my business. Are there laws to protect me?

You have unfortunately succombed to your own lack of serious computer protection. There are laws to protect you (as hacking can be considered breaking and entering), however, the perpetrators must be determined, caught, and convicted -- all of which can be very difficult.

You should start off by making a basic police report, and you may wish to go on to file with your state attorney general and the FBI's Internet crime division.

In the mean time, you should protect yourself from furthur attack by cleaning your system, and changing and improving your protection. You may wish to seek professional assistance with these tasks.
