toshiba laptop problem

I have toshiba laptop I am trying to repair for a relative. I have recovery disks for a satellite 1805 and the laptop is a 1800. It tells me wrong machine when I try to run it. Is there a way around this? Anyone know where this data is stored? Also how do I access BIOS on this machine?

Hold Esc during boot...then you should be prompted to press F... this should get you to bios. My Toshiba is setup that way.

No suggestions on your revovery disk question. Sorry.
