Help me please. RD RAM problem.

My system : P4 1.5 GHz Mainboard : Intel D850GB Windows XP Professional.

I heard from http://www.rambus.com/products/rdram/rdram_faq.cfm that a pairs of RD RAM with different bus speed can work together.

I've 2 pairs of RD Ram.

1st pair : Kingston 128x2 mb PC800

2nd pair : Samsung 128x2 mb PC700 with ECC feature.

My system works fine with only 1st pair installed. Then I bought 2nd pair. This is the result.

(1) Installed 1st pair in slot 1,2 and 2nd pair in slot 3,4.

- The bios detected the RAM and displayed them correctly.
- Can boot and start Windows.
- But the system restart in few seconds.
- Keep restarting after logged in to Windows.
- Automatically Enters scandisk after system restart.

(2) Installed only 2nd pair. Have the empty slot installed with a pair of "empty RAM" (I don't know what to call it but you've to put it on the emptyslots to get the system work, like when the system worked with only my 1st pair)

- All Black screen. Can't do anything.

(3) Installed 2nd pair in slot 1,2 and 1st pair in slot 3,4.

- The bios detected the RAM and displayed them correctly.

- Can't get into Windows and it said some of my windows files are corrupted and tell me that I can attemp to repair them using Windows XP CD-ROM's "repair" function(available after booting with Windows XP CD-ROM)

- System halt while booting with WinXP CD_ROM.

Question : How can I get these 2 pair of RAM to work together? Re-installing Windows XP will help?

Mixing ECC and non-ECC is usually not a problem like stated in the FAQ. It's registered and non-registered that you cannot mix.

CRIMM (Continuity RIMM) is the "blank" stick.

I would say you 2nd pair of RDRAM is no good.
