Kids Video Card

i am just got into making computers so i am a noob. I have a Abit VP6 it has no on board video card. I have a video card that my friend told me to try But nothing is showing up. Is the video card suppost to upload it's drivers or what???

Any Help would be great.

ya, the card should automatically go through post. what does your computer do when you try to power it on? if everything is working properly exept no video, then your card must be shot. maybe.....

Make sure you disable the onboard video in the bios. Then make sure you have the monitor cable pluged into that card.

When I power it on everthing works but the monitor is blank . Fans turn on motherboard light comes on new hard drive cd drives. So you guys think the video card is shot? Any other suggestions.
