Windows 98 se Problems...
Hi, I have a second hand pc... Long story... That I am in the process of making functional...

HOWEVER, I have a re-accuring problem with the detection of the PCI Communication Device...

I have all the latest Device Drivers... I think...

I am also fairly ok with pc's so I am feeling like a real dumb* Dumb*

Help ?

Does it have a modem or a NIC?

If so, and you haven't loaded the drivers, you'll need to do that.

Be sure to load the chipset drivers as well.

Try this,
Plug off all PCI dievices, and plug in one at a time, and start the PC, Log in, restart, repeat the procedure, IRQ conflict is a common cause for a second hand PC and win98 se OS not two work properly. Make sure the slots are clean.
