Motherboard gets no power

hi

i just got a ASUS Ai series P4P800-E Motherboard with a 3.0 Pentium 4 processor and a BLACK 450w ATX Mid-Tower Case i just bought from the net ive connected all the wires from the power supply on to the mother board and the hard drive and cd drive and plugged in the necessary plugs to make the power swiches work but when i turn on the power supply the little green bulb on the lower center area of the motherboard doesnt even light up. I thought itcoulda been because the power switch had to be turned on but when i press the switch nothing happens.

does any one have any idea what the problem is?
please help

make sure you have the led lights plugged into the right place on the motherboard
