Urgent Help...reinstall

Hi all,

Please can someone help?

I just formatted my hd ready to reinstall win xp pro, it copied the 1st batch of files then had to reboot, on rebooting it won't go past the post screen it reads my ram hd cdrom then stops,

this might sound dumb, but take the cd out.

I took the CD out still no difference

what kind of motherboard are you running on there? and what size hard drive?

it sounds like its not detecting your hard drive. you said you formatted it before you reinstalled windows? if you did that then your motherboard might not be detecting it anymore.

I managed to get it to boot, the prob i'm having now is i get this message on trying to finish the install:

\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\c_1252.nls

Is missing or corrupt,

how can i repair this

When i choose repair using the cdrom i get the following message:

Which windows installation would you like to log onto
<to cancel press enter>......i have no idea??

hmm..... well, you must of reinstalled it not reformatted it. when you reinstall, you keep all your old files (which can be corupt). try reformatting (that means start all over but this time when it shows you the partions of the hard drive, delete the current partion and it will install a fresh new windows xp.
