SCSI/RAID host controller failure

When i go into my device manager it tells me that my SCSI/RAID host controller isnt recognised. It says 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)'

Ive looked on my documentation and cant find the make of the controller. I tried the Adaptec controller by adding new hardware but it still said it wasnt recognised.

Do i need to do a reinstall from the recovery disc or is the problem something else?

You could remove the SCSI controller and examine the board for an ID or a chip number. This will give you a starting point to identify the controller.
