DDR memory question

I have a Biostar M7VIW motherboard with XP2400+ processor. The motherboard can use either PC133 SDRAM or PC 2100 DDR ram (one or the other not both). I currently use 1gig of PC133 ram and would like to move up to DDR ram. My question is, even though the board specs call for PC 2100 ram, would PC 3200 work in the board (I know it would not run at 400 mhz)? I'd like to go with the better ram so that I can use it in a future system and still get the benefit of DDR ram in my current rig.

Thanks.

it more than likely would work however there really isn't a need for the extra costs. If you want to run ddr and not run pc2100 then I'd go with some decent pc2700 which you probably can find at a more reasonable price.

edit: even if your planning on using the 3200 at a later date you might still think about the 2700 for now as prices will more htan likely drop on the pc3200 down the road. But that kinda depends on how long your planning on waiting to upgrade
