angelfire pages pop up oNLY on IE wipes out other pages

thanks for responding...
i was so sure i put in what i had tried to do..i am sorry...and i did go through FAQS here...and search...but how do you search when you have no idea what is happening to you is called???
i tried a bunch of different searches...for this and for my other questions...
took me over an hour and all it did was frustrate me more..

i tried ad aware...spy bot...removing temp files...defrag...it is not a virus ...only occurs when using IE as browser...so i loaded netscape...it no longer happens...
BUT
because IE is still my main browser

that command box pops up with that DOS bos with it..that i referred to in other question no one has answered...

In some cases adware or spyware has to be turned off in MSCONFIG . this what you do you type this in on the selection called RUN you'll find run when you click the start menu. when msconfig comes up you will select ( selective start up ) then you will pick the tab up top that says start up in there you can see what is checked and can search down everything that's on and check off what is not windows needed. becare ful make sure you reseach the programs.if theres a check mark in the box that means it will start up when the pc comes on.

Your nortan problem = If you have the oginal nortan cd with the key code then go in to control panel and then to add+remove programs and find all of nortans programs and uninstall them + go in to c drive + program files and delete the nortan file . Then reboot and reinstall nortan off the original cd.Also when your in add+remove programs nortan is also called Symantec but don't get worried if something doesn't uninstall right away some times nortan has one or more programs in there and theres a certain order in which you have to uninstall them so just keep trying until they all let you unistall them.

What hp is trying to tell you about your ram issue is that you have an integrated graphics card and that it is robbing 1mega byte of ram to run all your graphics on your pc the only way around that is if you installed a graphics card that has it's own ram. Lots on pc 's are coming out with integrated graphics cards mine uses 32 mega bytes of my ram.

i read thru lavasoft papers and found this..and remembered another time on older computer i had to disable the 'microsoft messenger service' which is NOT MSN instant msg...here is what lavasoft web site said...i added the plug in..maybe this will help others with similar problems..

Lavasoft's Messenger-Control plug-in for Ad-aware is a simpler option. All you need to do is download the plug-in. Then extract and run the installation executable, which will put the plug-in in the correct folder. After that you just run Ad-aware, click the "Plug-ins" button, and double click on Messenger-Control. Select "Disable Messenger," and the Service will be shut down. Should you ever need to restore it, follow the same directions and click "Enable Messenger".

If you're using a standalone machine not connected to a LAN, you can generally turn off Windows Messenger Service with no problems, although there are some programs that make legitimate use of the Service. Those connected to a local area network will want to contact their system administrator first just in case they make use of it.

shutting off Windows Messenger Service will have no effect on any of the popular "instant messaging" systems
