k7sem 133mhz-AMD AthlonXP
hello everybody! just need a help from you guys out here, especially Etruscan?? I want to upgrade my cpu Amd 850Mhz to AthlonXP 2100... the problem is that , I dont know if can it be possible??? I mean can my mainboard able to support AthlonXp Cpu's that are 266Mhz?? here are my Pc'c specs:
CPU:AMD Duron850 Mhz
MAINBOARD:ECS K7sem ver. 1.1b
MEMORY:256 Sdram
OS:WinME/WinXP
Power Supply:350 Watts
>on the mainboard's manual, i read that it can accomodate AMD cpu's ranging from 100-133 mhz. I tried to consult some of my friends who has knowledge about pc hardwares. some say my mainboard wont be able to read AthlonXp, some say that my mainboard can.. they said that updating my mainboards bios. and my mainboard's 133 mhz capacity can be multiplied (x2) to accomodate the AthlonXP? was that what they call overclocking??? sometimes i planned to buy those latest mainboards(266-400mhz) that has ddr modules along with AthonXp cpu. can you help me out with this?? If it would be possible to upgrade my cpu DUron to Athlon? knowing that my mainboard/cpu was outdated???? hope to hear from you guys out there!!!!! thanks in advance!
