Laptop Battery Question

Just purchased a laptop (used) for my wife.... It is in great shape but I am wondering about the battery life...

"fully charged" it only lasts about an hour.

I am sure this isn't normal. I am letting it run all the way down right now and will recharge it from totally dead, to see if that helps.

If this is NOT normal, what kind of life can I expect from a good battery?

That's probably about half dead or more. Could be a good 100 bucks for a new one

So how long can I expect a new one to last, from full charge?

This *might* be normal. Perhaps you could tell us exactly what kind of laptop and battery you have.

Either way, you should be able to get a new battery with greater run time. How long depends largely on how much charge the new battery holds and how much juice the laptop uses.
