Help with monitor driver

One friend of mine has an old PC running Windows Me. The problem is he format it to clean it up and forgot to back up his driver. Now he can't get his monitor out of 16 colors. We've already searched the web for the driver, no luck. Does anyone here have have it, maybe in the basement?

Monitor AcerView 31 VGA. Model 7031.

Do you think we also have to get a graphics adapter? The computer has vga.drv and supervga.drv. I took a look at the mother board and shows A-P 8M UHraDMA66 PC99 Connector.

I'm asuming from the search I've done that this is a pc-chips motherboard??? you'll more than likely need to know exactly which model it is and then do a model specific search

btw: from what your describing your looking for the graphics card adapter not the monitor adapter

Yes, the issue is the graphics driver, not the monitor driver.

I found and downloaded the graphics adapter from pcchips, and the monitor looks good now.
