Ok guys.. Here is one for you.. And I will become your personal slave if you can fix this..
I am using the ATI 9800 All In Wonder Graphics Card.. My OS is Win XP - Home.. I am trying to play Star Wars Galaxies and I have been successful up until the latest download of the drivers for my vid card and Sony Tech Support no longer has any ideas. I keep crashing in game. I cant even load in any longer. In dxdiag it says that AGP texture Acceleration is not available, is this what is making me crash? I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and have updated the AGP drivers for my MOBO.. I have also gone into msconfig - startup and disabled all. Any other ideas?
Lack of AGP texture acceleration should not make the game crash -- only run much slower. That said, it should be available to you.
If you haven't already, I'd suggest reinstalling the latest version of DirectX, completely removing your existing ATi drivers using the software uninstall utility, and reinstalling the latest driver package for the card.
My DirectX version is 9.0b which is what I thought to be the latest version of DirectX and as for the video drivers, I have done that nnumerous times so far and to still no avail.. Any other ideas?
As a customer of SOE, let me tell ya, they do some funky stuff to thier games, updates and such, that aren't really well tested out, so I'm guessing, if you've done everything on your end, it's all them...
