adding more ram won't make your computer run faster especially if you already have 2gigs. About the only way to make it faster is a faster cpu or overclocking your current one or possibly better components. Posting systems specs would be helpful

There are ways to make the computer run faster.

1. Clean the registery or fresh install which ever suits your needs.

2. Add a high preformance independent video card, if your system depends on an onboard setup it will slow the computer.

3. Make sure all spyware is removed

4. Tweak Windows registery / system, (not recommended for normal users, advanced only!)

5. Make sure the Case has propper cooling, also can buy ram coolers ect might gain a couple millisecounds.

6. Kill the windows page filing if you have 2 gigs of ram I recommend you stop windows from page filing it slows the computer down quite a bit using the HD like R.A.M (Note: programs that depend on large page filing may not work right ie: adobe photoshop)

7. Add faster R.A.M if possiable

How fast is your system, you have to relise without proper stress on the system you will not notice a speed increase once you reach a certain point. ie: a window will open just as quick on a 1 ghz as it would on 1.4 ghz at system idle and if there is a difference it is so little it is un noticable. Now if the the system is stressed and you open a window that's a different story the 1.4 would do it quicker.
Just an example I now it probably don't apply to your setup.
