Gaming Help Needed

Okay, here's the problem. I have a CD-RW and CD-ROM installed on my built computer. The problem is, Windows XP(home) does not detect that I even have a burner, yet it only detects one CD-ROM drive. When I right-click the CD-ROM drive, and click 'eject'...It opens BOTH of my drives.... I am running Windows XP Home, with the Asus P4P8X mobo, 512 Ram....oh, and the CD-RW and ROM are out of my old Dell computer. Please help me, could it be the BIOs, or maybe even I need to set one of the drives as slave and the other as master? Please help.

first things first..If you have both the drives on the same cable then yes you'll need to designate one as master and the other as slave. Secondly you should check the bios to make sure they are both being recognized

look for a picture of the small set of pins on the back of the drive that have the jumpers on them, with the words cable select beside it. you need to set the jumpers on the back of each drive according to how the picture associated with cable select on each drive is setup. this will cause the position of the drive on the cable to determine whether each drive is slave or master, and make it easier to change drive configurations.
