Question about p2p filesharing

I was wondering, is RIAA going after just people who "share" music or are they going after people who download it as well?

Mainly people who share the music, to the best of my knowlege it's not against the law to d/l it, it's against the law to distribute it. There going after the big players in the game.

It's stupid to begin with it's really no different then recording your favorite TV show but gotta love corperate america they get what they want when they want it.

I would avoid it if your concernd about it.

I would guess it's illegal whether you're the downloader or the sharer, it's just easy to go after the sharers

as long as you dont use softwear like kazaa media desktop (not kazaa lite) or any other softwear similar, you wont have a problem. By using certain file share programs, by default, the music , video , etc. is automatically being shared once you have finished downloading it (sometimeswhile it is still downloading).
that can cause a problem. RIAA is looking for mass distributors of (mainly) new stuff. So if u have the latest of 50 new music albums downloaded from your file share softwear, that means that u also have 50 new albums being shared online, that also means your a target for RIAA. On many new versions of file sharing softwear thereare a few options to dissable the sharing (uploading). Just look around and be carefull with whom u speak to on these certain file share program chat lines. Any further questions? -420
