I have just bought a used pc. The bios is made by American Mega Trends (release date is 1-21-2002). I have partitioned the hard drive with a single partition (C

and I have designated the file system as NTFS. Hard drive is 40 gig. If make and model of hard drive, mother board, floppy drive is helpful I will gather that information. It seems to go through post with no problems. When it tries to read the floppy it says "remove disc or other media" "press any key to restart". I can get to A prompt (using partition magic) and using dir I can see the files on the boot disc but I can't get it to work that way either. If the floppy is capable of reading the files on the disc then there is nothing wrong with the floppy is it? Why won't the boot disc work? I have tried windows 2000 pro boot disc #1 (no luck), dos 6.22 boot disc (no luck), I found a boot disc on line that claimed to remedy such problems (no luck). Windows 2000 is the operating system I am trying to install by the way. I am not an expert on such things but I am attending college for a wide range of computer applications. I am open to advanced suggestions.
