Remote Access Question...

I currently use RealVNC to access my office computer to do misc. tasks. I have a concern with privacy, as I work in a pretty open-concept office and don't like the idea that someone could very well be watching what I was doing while I was logged in remotely.

What I'm wondering is if there's some way to disable the local view when I'm using the system via VNC, that would just give a local blank screen, or something.

Someone suggesting turning the monitor off - but that doesn't really stop anyone from just flicking it on... Something that wouldn't be overly unusual in my office environment. There was another suggestion that I use a password protected screensaver, but that's something that I would have to disable once I logged in via VNC anyway.. So, that sort of defeats the purpose.

Perhaps there is another remote access app I could be using that would provide a little bit more privacy? I only use VNC because it's what I'm most familiar with.

Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Brandon

I think that means no, it's not possible to blank the screen.

If your office doesn't really look after computer used, you could just setup another computer that doesn't even have a monitor to vnc to. Of course that's a bit stupid but hey, it's a suggestion

I don't know any other free remote access solutions except vnc.

Well you could go just a bit further and unplug the monitor from the back of the computer?
