fresh install of win2k

i haf win98se on my old com now .. i wana do a fresh install instead of upgrade of win2k... i check the partition ... but .. when i go into the setup.. there is no unformatted partition space.. which means my C: gets all the gb... how can i partition the drive so that i could install win2k on another partition ... so i can haf both 98 and 2k in 1 com..

There are programs to do what you are asking, like "partition magic". If you do a look around, you may find a freeware utility that can accomplish this for you. As I haven't used any of them, I won't point you to one in particular. But it seems to me that, as you are sorta in the middle of a software install, you should look for something that can boot from a DOS floppy maybe.

When you setup windows, you can delete the partition and recreate it during setup.

No need for external programs.

i dun even haf 1 partition and when i go into win2k setup it does not show a unformatted partition .. how do i do partition thru win98 ?

If you have w98 installed, of course it doesn't show unformatted partition. It shows partition that is formatted with either fat16 or fat32. You then proceed to delete the partition (after which it becomes unformatted) and then create a new partition which you format with ntfs.

//edit:
You can partition in the following way through dos:
Boot up with boot floppy, run fdisk, delete partitions&recreate partition. Reboot with floppy, format c:, start winnt in <cdrom>:\i386\
