AHHHH..crap

Specs:
Amd Athlon Xp 1700+
256RAM
1.47GHZ
Windows Xp Home sp1
Radeon 9000 64MB

Ok so heres the problem:
Yesterday i was dnloading a mod for bf1942 from filefront. and i closed everything cept the firewall(sygate) and ati thing. I got bored while dnloading and started to play bf1942 single player. Well then my older bro came over to use the computer.he logged on after i "switch users" and had the dnload yet running. and then i got a blue screen sayinig that Windows has encountered a problem and needs to restart to prevent damage, then it gave me an error PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA and said it was doing a physical memory dump. and then i restarted it.
I asked ppl on the CFH boards not really much help just info.
I have a program called TUNEUPUTILITES it has a memory tab that it allows u to free up so much memory and i had(have) it set at 214MB to free up. I did this when i was dnloading and playing BF, could this have caused it? and also now im seeing some issues not bad but instead of 256RAM it says 255RAM, and the physical memory usage is really low like 30% at somepoints and 40-50% free othertimes. wtf should(can) i do. i hope i didnt ruin the computer!*sad*

**** Oh also on the blue screen it said somethng about added new hardware may have caused it. But i installed the new vid card like 2-3 weeks ago. why would it have happpend now?****

I got that same blue screen before.. I put in a CD into my CD rom but for some reason it' just couldn't read it... and it kinda hang-ed my PC. I shut explorer.exe using Task Manager and restarted explorer. And when i opened anything (i.e. My Computer, IE) i got that blue screen and comp restarted... but everything was back to normal though, and up till now everything's fine ~ I dun know the reason for that crash

sometimes u can just do a "repair install"....that will just overwrite the system files but leave the other stuff alone (like your data etc)

boot to the Xp cd....DONT choose the first "R" cuz that is just the repair console..which you dont want....instead choose to install and it will search for and find your current windows install..then it gives u the choice to "repair" that current install...so you choose the second "R"...not the first "R"
