HELP!

My friends monitor was just working, and it all of a sudden shut off. We have plugged it into another spot, undone and redone all the plugs and nothing. Does this mean its dead??? Is there any other way to tell if it is fried?? Thanks!!!

try it with another machine, eh? what does the powerlight do when you switch the monitor?

there is no other machine, I am 500 miles away. And the computer is on, and nothing is coming up on the monitor and no lights

try it straight into the wall without the surge protector.

if there are NO lights on the monitor...not even the amber standby lite..that isnt a good sign....but it could be the power chord (doubtful though)

Short circuit?

Was there any standby lights ON? If its still ON and there are no display, then it could be the display card inside your CPU. Try check that out when your computer has completely turned OFF. Replug it tightly on its slot and turn back ON your computer again. Still, I don't quite recommend you to do that. It could be dangerous. Maybe theres a specific circuit got burnt, I don't know.

Do not open the monitor chasing while it is still ON! A 15,000 volt enough to fry a human being!
