Best way to learn Photoshop 7
Boredom runs rampant around the Fox household, so I'm taking it up to learn Photoshop 7 until I can get my greedy paws on PS CS (poetry alert).
I'm kind of a nub when it comes to the program, so what's the best way to learn more about using it? I'm probably going to get a Photoshop 7 Wow! book off of eBay, but how about websites?
And other tips besides "the best way to learn it is to sit down and use it" would be great. I don't want to do any work, I just want to learn it. |

Yeah I saw that one, in fact I tried it myself. Can't post it on the board because the phrase used was less-than kosher. |

If you don't want to do any work, then you could start with this: Go here and watch those Quicktime movies. You can just kick back and watch. Russel is semi-entertaining as well, so most of them are actually fun to watch and listen to. Of course you'll need to practice what you're seeing to eventually get good at it...but you may absorb some knowledge just by watching. |

No, I just want to like download it into my brain. I'm USB 2.0-equipped, you know.
Anyways, I'll check those links out. Still pondering the PS CS thing, I want all the control I can get.

If you do get a book, i suggest this one: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...books&n=507846
I looked through a lot of books, and i found this was the easiest and had the best illustrations, and even had imageready.

The best way to learn it to play with it. Try out as many different tools, layers, and filters as possible to see what happens. Here's something I whipped up the first time I screwed around with it. |

Sounds alright, some things I'd like to do are for the web but not all. When I do content creation I use a mix of Photoshop and am now dabbling with Freehand 10, so that looks like a good read. Hopefully I can find it for check-out before I plunk down the cash.
Tony - link broken.
