I just got a new setup from newegg.
Mobo a7n8x-e / cpu amd2500/333 barton
ddram 512m ddr333 pc-2700
vga cardex gf mx 4000 128.
80 G WesternDigital SATA
ANTEC Mini tower case SX635BII 350W
Got it all together and tried booting it and no beep or messages to monitor/ monitor light amber. Mobo has green light all fans and hard drive came on. Tried backing up and disconnecting some things and moving memory around. still no go.
The only thing left is to remove the CPU and memory all
together. I've tried a PCI video card also and no go. Any ideas?

Memory fully seated in the slots? The white tabs should 'snap' into place.

Heatsink on correctly? (screwdriver 'tab' should be towards the 'top edge' of the motherboard)

CPU not seated properly? (if it is uneven in the socket)

CMOS jumper (near round battery) set on pins 1-2 (not 2-3)?

Have you tried clearing the CMOS? (moving to pins 2-3 for 20 seconds or so..)

Video card plugged in (if it needs it)?

Cleared the CMOS. No
I reseated the memory. NO
Removed the CPU and heatsink and tried again. NO
Pulled the whole Mobo out and put everthing back in and
nothing. Removed devices one by one trying it and still not even a beep. Any other ideas ? The keyboard does light up once very quickly. I went on ASUS website and tried to submitt something to the forum it seems to be down....
