Misc RAM PROPLEM

HI
u r always my great help so thanks,
I have a processor pentume 3 /550mh/512 slot one
and my ram is 64 /100 bus
is there any way to change the ram with another 128with 133 bus
if my mb was gigabyte bxc2000
and thanks

btw, welcome to TechImo forums, afe. if you are asking if 133MHz ram will work in a 100MHz ram slot, then, yes it will, you just have to make sure you buy the same strip type.

if you keep BOTH strips in, you will have 196Mb of ram but it will all runn at the lower 100MHz speed. this may not be a problem as your motherboard may not be able to run ram at 133MHz, check your mobo manual, if you have one.

usually pc133 is backward compatable with pc100, so i am assuming you are using pc100 64mg of ram and want to add pc133 128mg stick as mentioned in above reply, so you would end up with 192 mgs of ram with both sticks, but like said above, it would run at 100 mhz due to the pc 100 64mg stick, but you would hardly notice the diference anyway in my opinion. But it should work fine for ya.
