Looking for GOOD *and* FREE burning software............

Just built a nice little Duron system for my sister and while it came bundled with Nero Express, I forgot it at my house. I can and probably still will send her the disc so she has it just in case anything *downloadable* doesn't work, but I was wondering if anybody ever downloaded some freeware that thought kicked butt over the basic Roxio/Nero setups.

EEEEEASY would be preferable since my sister's not super-savvy, but the last super-easy burn software I saw was the HP "mycd" that came w/ my old 8x HP burner. Unfortunately it doesn't work with any other burner, thus my search for sumfin' else! TIA

Nero 5.5.10.42 can be found on OldVersion.com

I dunno if that has NeroExpress in that release. You'll find Nero Ultra Editions as well.

I'd be weary of the Nero deal
Its a Nero OEM deal, typically those cd's are tailored to the device it was intended to be sold with.

$2.00???

How can that be? Sounds a bit fishy to me. Has anyone actually ordered from them?

Word. I've got two Yamaho burners (before they quit making them) that came with Nero. That software will only install with my Yamaha drives.

I know . . . I tried.

Did ER just say, "word"??????? (poke, poke, rib, rib)

Thanks ER, that oldversion.com is becoming a favorite of mine super fast!!! I love havin' Acrobat Reader 4 at work! Sucker opens in about .5 seconds!! (10x faster than version 6)

As for the Nero stuff on that site, how can they afford to let us d/l those higher versions of Nero for FREE???????????? Heck, even 5.5.10.42........I remember only weeks ago, I had to prove on Ahead's site that I had 5.5.xx.x before I could d/l the upgrade!

I only wish they offered IE 5.5SP2. I finally got it from somewhere, but don't recall where.

I totally agree w/ you on Acrobat Reader. I've never installed 6 and cringe when I see someone w/ 5ish.

You might notice they have PowerArchiver as well. That's a WinZip knock-off that in it's earliest version, you didn't have to agree to the EULA everytime. It just worked! I'm thinking it might have been a version earlier than what they have up. I was going to mess w/ it later to see.
