AMD Barton 2500 ? ->

Would there be any advantages in buying an AMD 2600 Barton over a 2500 Barton ?

the 2600+ just has a slightly higher clock speed, which matters if your not overclocking i suppose

my 2600+ only overclocks ~150mhz (~2050mhz), but it seems a lot of people have gotten the 2500+ to work at 200fsb, (2200mhz), so i regret having spent the extra $10 for the 2600.
maybe i got unlucky, and probably you have to get quite lucky to get the 2500 to work that fast, but most likely if you overclock, the 2500+ can be at least as fast as the 2600.

if you don't overclock, the 2600+ of course is faster, though not by much

The majority of 2500+ chips will run at 3200+ speeds. You'll need an nForce 2 board that runs 400FSB. Then you install the cpu and set the bus speed at 200 instead of the spec speed of 166.

2.34 sounds about right for bartons, you may need water cooling if @ 2.5+

my 2500 wont do anything at 200fsb, well anything being anything intensive.

Crash with a pagefile error.

Get a mobile... Mine does 2.3GHz at 1.6volts. I can get it to 2.4 with 1.7 and 2.5 with 1.85 but its almost summertime and its getting quite hot so i'm settling for 2.3@1.6 which is faster than a 3200+ and runs a heck of a lot cooler.
