Video card or psu?

I purchased a larger PSU & different MOBO a couple weeks ago & have since been having problems while playing games only. I always get a VPU recovery error. It makes me think I'm not getting enough power. Just want to see if anyone else has any ideas on what could be causing this. BTW it did this no matter which version of the Cat drivers I used.

2500+ XP @ 333fsb
MSI K6TV mobo
512 PC3200 Geil
Saphire 9800 Pro
XP w/ SP1
Latest ATI Catalyst Drivers

DOH!! Enermax 350 watt. On my previous set up it was with a MSI K7N2 Delta mobo with a 300 watt PowerMan PSU. I ran all the same parts w/o any problems

Have you plugged the vid card into the ps rail?

The power supply might say that it is pumping out 350 Watts but sometimes it might only be 325 or even 300 Watts. Maybe if you could take that one back and get an Antec or a Zalman PSU. That would just be the easiest way rather than spending hours trying to figure out your problem.

That is what I plan on doing but didn't want to go in like a dummy & say something that was totally off the wall.

Enermax 350watt PSU is every bit as good as an Antec or Zalman... Infact in a PSU test that toms did, the 350 by enermax put out over 380watts.

So does anyone have any ideas as to what may be causing the error?

Have you tried just disabling VPU recover? Also, make sure that the card isn't overclocked at all.

It is possible that it might be a power issue... My point from the previous post was only to point out that an Enermax psu is not inferior to any of the other name brands out there of equal wattage.

I also like to make sure that the power connector i'm using for the card is coming directly from the power supply and does not have any Y splitters or anything hooked up to it because they can cause bad connections.
