Systems xp freezes right after startup

After startup of windows xp home edition it comes the normal desktop screen. Upon here when anything is done ie pressing the start menu, chaning properties such as resolution or putting in a cd to install the drivers it freezes. Will not let me enter to change anything. I have tried changing Bios settings and it just seems like nothing seems to work. Hope some of you can help out!!!!!

I am running:

Athlon 2400
MSI k7n-2 delta mobo
kingston 512mb ddr ram
radeon 9600 vid card
hitachi 60 gb hdd

windows was running normally, to me it just seems like a hardware error but im just not sure. I have gotten a new mobo, thinking it was that or my ram, to test the ram i used someones elses. The only thing i really havent tested is the power supply, but i dont think it could do something like this.

Maybe it is your memory even if you tried someone elses memory. Might want to check your timings to make sure you're not trying to get tighter timings from your memory than it can handle. Something like that could cause some instabilities. Are you overclocking anything?

Did you check your temps? cpu?
