I need to know this soon, before I click teh buy button into the point of no return.
On
www.surpluscomputers.com , I found a steal on a pack of 4 SCSI 20GB hard drives, for a total of $18! (that's for all 4 together!). They also sell a $20 controller card there. They don't sell a 68pin cable (but they have 50 pins for $9, whcih seems a bit high to me, and adapters for $9, which is too high for me for 4 drives). So I went on the net to look for some 68 pin cables.
What I found did not impress me.
On NewEgg, the generic SCSI cables are $25, for one non-terminated 4 connector cable. Rounded. I don't want rounded. I don't care about Rouned. I want just 2 68 pin cables, because these drives will be going in 2 machines (my firewall, which will now be a 20GB web proxy

, and an older machine which will now be a network file server.
So here's my questions.
A) Where can I get some under $10 SCSI cables (no, not $9.99!) for these drives? (I want to have 3 drives in the Network Server, so one of those cables should be a 3 connector if possible.)
B) What the heck is a Terminator and do I need one? (I'm not talking about the movie

)
C) Which of these 2 SCSI cards would be better for me? I plan to operate both under Linux.

They also have a $10 50-pin Adaptec controller, but that means I have to spend money on adapters.
P.S. Yes, the company checks out. Has an 8.56/8.53 Lifetime rating on Resellerratings.
