specs:
gigabyte ga-7n400
amd xp 1500
wd 30 gig hd
gf2-ti200 vid card
256x2 pc2100 crucial ram
win xp pro
the problem:
while playing around in bios,i upped the fsb from 133 to 150. I have done this in the past. have temp shutdown enabed at 55 degC.
it froze up,so i rebooted into bios and lowered fsb to 140 and hit f10.
machine immediately started responding with steady long beeps.at least i think they were l
long ones.
couldnt shut it down with reset button,so i unplugged it.
now everything is dead, tho the light that indicates something to do with the ram is lit,and my optical mouse ball has light to it also.
i tried clearing the CMOS,but that did not help. i really cant understand that what i did would cause anything to fry,but i imagine the possibility is there.
the power supply is an achieve 500 watt. robrich did extensive testing and posted an article about this PS sometime back.
any suggestions other than leaving well enough alone next time

would be appreciated
many thanks,eh??
