in reference to this thread

http://www.techimo.com/forum/t102264.html

i was a bit annoyed with finding out wildtangent was being installed.

so i noticed aim had a new update. i unistalled the old verison along with dead aim. and also wild tangent from the control panel

downloaded the new update of 5.5.3591 i believe and it has the option to install weatherbug now and wildtangent

so i unclicked both and now i dont have wild tangent installed on my computer

if you still go into the control panel and see the wild tangent icon. search for wtcpl.cpl and delete it. it will be gone. (if you get an write proctection error, use hijack this)

also in the windows directory delete the folder called wt.

now you have aim and wild tangent free computer

btw please dont post Trillian or insert program name here is better.

thanks

Jason

Thanks for the update GZ3. I didn't know there was a new version available.

Just a little heads up, the wctpl.cpl file is often located in the windows/system32 file in XP.

You might also want to go into your program files and delete the AOD (AOL On Desktop) and AWS (Weatherbug) files.
