Picking up my neighbors wireless internet

I live in an apartment complex...and for the second time I have noticed that I am able to pick up a linksys network from my airport. I have since then accessed my neighbors internet(His up/down speed seems faster than mine) and his/her wireless router. I wanna tell him/her, but am finding it hard to resist playing around on his/her network. What should I do?? Tell him/her to lock down the wireless router with WEP or just continue to silently playon his her network?? Thanks...

By the way, this person didnt even change the default password to access the router!!!!! I have free reign!!! Muahaha!!!!! Seriously though, what should I do??? I am hoping it isnt the guy directly above me. Earlier this week, my (female)friend and I heard him doing the do with his hump buddy. My (female) friend and I agreed that the girl he was doin' was faking the moans.....I then yelled out that she was faking(right in the middle of there rendevous) it and I can set my Omega watch to her moans. If its him, I dont think he wants to talk to me.....so should I just play on his network??? Thanks for the advise.

I'd let him know.

That's what you would want if the situation were reversed.

Not sure which neighbor it is though..... I guess I can walk around with my laptop and see if the signal gets strong or weaker.

I hope it is the guy above you! Maybe it's me!

On a serious note. Don't go "playin" around on anyone's wireless network and be the smart little computer person you are and tell him and maybe help him out. If not then leave it alone. I run into a lot of wireless networks in my neighborhood. Some people just don't care enough to secure thier networks. More power to them.

While you're on his system, send him an email from himself letting him know about the problem. Give him the rundown, without telling him who you are. Sure, he'll know it's someone close, but that could probably be three or four choices.

Just an idea...

Or if he is cool with it, share the connection fees.

I can access his/her router...I do not know how to send an email to himself. I do not believe that such things are allowed to be discussed on this forum...too bad, I would have gotten a kick outta it. I have narrowed it down to the guy next door. He isnt home....wish I knew how to send him the email hehe

Just slip a note under his door when he isn't home. Also stay off his network!
