Laser Needs Second 'Command' to Print
 

Brother HL-1440 is funky.

Lights are unreliable as diagnostics because the flash a lot. Can live with.

But when we try to print, often nothing happens except maybe some print-like noise. Then we do Print command Again, and it prints.

Darn Nuisance having to go throgh two commands for one sheet !
Anybody know what's up ?

Does this hapen every time or just after waking it up?

Also, is it with every application you try to print from?

If it's only when waking up, you can change the sleep time in the driver settings to 0 to force it to stay awake, or up to 99 minutes to delay it going to sleep.

I've put about a dozen of these printers in use at my place of employment and have never experieced anything like this. Have you DLed and installed the latest drivers for your OS? Speaking of OS, which one are you using?
