GOOD stable reliable LCD?

I was looking to purchase the Samsung 173P but it seems a little expensive at over $600.

Does anyone know of a Good reliable manufacturer for an LCD 17" ?

I know Viewsonic and NEC are good but I need help deciding which model to get. I will mainly be using the comuter for word processing and office work. No heavy video or games. Is Samsung a good brand?

thanks!

I've had my SamSung SyncMaster 192n for about a year. I really
like it. The NEC 19" CRT was put in the storeage room and hasn't
seen the light of day sence.

try the planar px line 17 inch. They own.

anyone know if theres a good 19 inch gaming lcd out yet? I just tried a 19 incher from planar (not px line) and it wasn't that good. You couldn't really adjust the brightness and contrast that well.

My NEC has been great for the year and a half I've had it.

If you're looking for gaming LCD's look into the 20". It's either 17" or 20" LCD's that have 16 ms response time. The upcoming June Maximum PC is supposed to an in depth testing to the monitors that passed the May issue. May's was just preliminary testing.
